Conkers -Far Too Early to Fall

I think the tree down the road has got either leaf-mining moth or leaf-blotch fungus ( or both?). The leaves are brown already, immature conkers are raining down and it's only the first day of autumn (meteorological!)

Anne (@365anne) soon be time for red and white toadstools???
Oh no....that ain't good! Beautiful light and composed shot

I'd never heard of these before Thomas Brown at the post office in Lark Rise to Candleford. Fascinating!

Wonderful light! But if I had to choose I’d go with the other. Maybe because I haven’t had breakfast and I’d rather eat the berries than conkers! Ha ha — or because I think it’s “prettier.”

Love this!

I prefer this one because I like the spikiness of conkers and they remind me of childhood conker fights!

Spectacular detail of these! I feel like you posted some last year which might have been the first time I had ever heard the term conkers.

Oh no what are children going to do without conkers. Lovely capture.

Great composition. Let’s hope that it is just this one tree and not all.

They are interesting looking. I don't think that we get these in South Africa

Another great shot - I can see why you had trouble deciding!

It's interesting to see these nuts but I prefer the berries.
