Ten years ago a friend started up a monthly walk when the sailing season wasn't on. We haven't made every walk, but we've not missed a year. Today we commemorated the 10th anniversary by repeating the first route, and as usual I brought up the rear with the group gathered together resting waiting for me, only to set off as soon as I reach them.
There was a tyre swing hanging, so I rested for a couple of seconds to get a shot of them through it.
We saw deer, a woodcock, snowdrops galore and quite a bit of mud!
VML this, particularly as our fortnightly walk is tomorrow. We take it in turns to decide the route and host goƻter (think cake, bix, chocolate, wine, coffee, fruit). Very convivial, especially as our 'turn' generally falls in December when it's R's B'day or just before Christmas. You wouldn't believe how much the French like trifle and mince pies (No French equivalent), given that they are professionally superstitious of what they don't know. Funnily enough, there's generally a 100% turnout for English Afternoon Tea ;-)
@brennieb thank you
