I received a gift yesterday, "101 Things to do in Retirement". The Virus needs to be over for about 65% of them, and I've started the painting already.

I share my "art" with my daughters, as they gifted me the paints, so every now and then I'll show off here. I've got a special tag, so in December I can see if I've improved. Look at the tablet screen, that's my guide!
@salza So I'm finding- I'm advised by others I should have started on acrylics! Never mind it's great fun to copy and lose myslef for a couple of hours @marlboromaam very kind @linnypinny talent at copying - but I find the shading difficult @jb030958 most kind- I'm persevering- it's like photography (I hope) rubbish as a learner at first, copy and learn techniques, and eventually do my own thing! @shutterbug49 getting there slowly @dutchothotmailcom not really!! I have several friends who paint or sketch. They usually start from photos. They don’t even try to copy. They use the photo for inspiration. One that does pastels says he roughs it in and then wets it. After it dries it “speaks to him like images in clouds” and he knows which way to go. I like the photo and the painting.
Greeeeaaat!!! I love it. If you want to practice flowers in watercolours, i recommend esther peck's tutorials. Not sure if available on youtube, but surely you can find them on skillshare (they have a 2-months trial which is awesome).

You are all very genrous with your compliments, but it's a start and I will progress. I'm not even sure how to hold the brush properly!!
