Went to view the Edo Pop exhibition at Watts' Gallery. Fascinating 19th century woodcut prints, some showing the westernisation that was forced upon Japan. Most documented the world of actors and high class sex workers - who shockingly had young apprentices!
In the sculpture room, there was a modern woodblock print artwork suspended from the rafters.
it sounds like a very interesting exhibit and this is a unique view with the roughness of the woodcut and the softer sophistication of the cherry blossom print
