Because I'm so often behind the camera, I'll sometimes ask Ken to get my photo when I'm dressed to go out and looking my best. But this is the real me...the way you'll find me around the house on most any day. We'd come back from our walk, and I was at the computer...T.J. got up into my lap, and Ken walked into the room. When he saw us together, he told me to give him the camera.
I fight that cowlick & I seldom wear makeup...I wish I could, but I'm allergic to it. I could've done with a little lipstick, but I usually forget to refreshen that, too. My big indulgence is a regular manicure. My favorite accessory is a cat in my lap; I'm a happy camper.

all natural is the best you are looking great i don't wear makeup just moisturizer. not necessary to hide my wrinkles all part of live. your cat ,didn't know you were also a cat person,is a beauty.
Just the way you are is just purr-fect! I love how your generous and kind spirit shines in this self-portrait ... your smile and twinkling eyes are the only "makeup" you need! (TJ really doesn't look like he's too sure he wants to be in the picture ... he was probably happier curled up on your lap!) Kudos to Ken for seeing this portrait opportunity!

So, is this T.J.'s self portrait or yours? ..... If you didn't point out the cowlick I doubt if anyone would have noticed. ........ My wife never wears makeup either, unless it is for a wedding or other special occasion and then it is only eye makeup. But she never misses getting her manicure and pedicure. She even talked me into going for a manicure on two occasions.

I don't often wear makeup either and I usually keep my nails short (an old habit from my days of ceramics that is dying a very long slow death). I just went for a very well deserved pedi last night and think I will be getting a mani today. Sometimes you just need to feel pampered, you know?

I 'm glad that you like it----I felt a little silly doing it! But, why not have fun. This 365 project has made me stretch in a few ways. I really like the fact that I see so much more around me (because I am searching for a potential picture opportunity) I embrace anything that makes me grow :o)

Yes, most certainly. It was a very stressful week at work, complete with 14+ hour days, and by the end of each day, it was all I could do to make it from the front door into my bed. No creativity, no energy, no time left for 365 - a very sad state indeed. But I should be back on board tomorrow.
Thanks, Louise...my "Hawaiian colors" were really just black and white...but oh, editing can improve a photo so much...or in my case camouflage me so you cannot see the "real" me!!! LOL

As for your comments on my SP - it's really NOT typical of me. At ALL. I'm usually a purring tabby, not a slightly scandalous lioness - but when I get riled up, I get GOOD AND RILED UP, lol! I didn't want to offend anyone - but it's part of life, too. ;)
Hahaha...yes, I am on the east coast but it is Friday night...I attended a seminar in Charlottesville, VA tonight (that is where Kay -mother of the Sheridan Ave Boys!)...had some coffee to keep me awake for my 1 hour + drive back to Richmond...home now and wide awake so figured why not hang here on 365! LOL

Thanks! I had been wanting to play with lights using a subject that would sit still, but DANG self portraits are hard. I had to keep hopping up to see if I had the lights, focus and composition right, then try to get back into the same spot. I don't know how everyone else does them!

I don't even remember what the topic was, but the reason I first came to your page was a 365 discussion -- your comment was quite verbose, and I thought to myself "I love her!"...now that I have seen more of your photos and comments, I love you even more. I never understood when friends of mine would say they have "friends" whom they've never met in person (from the internet), but now I do. It's very nice "knowing" you, and I look forward to getting to know you more!
