Louise my friend, I am doing better than expected, but pushed it too much today. But I am definitely happy to be on the other side.
Thank you for being so instrumental in uplifting me.
Will send you another note, soon..but I have pushed it today in sitting up, so I am going to rest, now.
But I did want to make sure I stopped by to say HI!
XO
I say bring on the heat! My husband can't stand it, but I hate being cold, and to me there's nothing better than a hot summer day. I can, however, do without humidity!
Hi Louise, thanks for your comments on my photos! (: I'll tell you a little about the Birman breed of cat - they are one step down from the Ragdoll, (the Ragdoll comes from the Birman crossed with another brred, I'm not sure which one), are very placid and friendly, love being picked up and cuddled, follow you around the house, just love human contact - unlike a lot of cat breeds who can be aloof! They have the points like Siamese, but are nothing like them. Oscar is a Lilac/Tabby Point boy and is 5 years old and my little baby - I don't have kids of my own, so he is my child! The Birman is a really delightful breed, has loads of personality and stems from Burma. Years ago they used to be kept by temple priests in Burma and serenely sat at the doors to the temple. They somehow made their way to France where they were recognised as a breed - and the rest is history! If you love cats - check them out on google!
This made me laugh, I have been complaining about the heat for the past week! So humid here...and working outside with all the bugs is no fun! However, your picture makes me want to have a garden party! LOL!
Brad used to drive a cab...and he noted that if the weather did anything for more than 3 days in row...no matter WHAT the weather was, people would complain.
I've always thought that was funny.
It's never stopped me from complaining of being too hot, though.
I'd much rather be cold than hot.
When you're a woman of a certain age ( I like to call it, "refined" ), heat is a killer! ;-)
me too! spend some time reading in the sunshine myself today!
thank you so much for sending the link to your daughter's photo--i LOVED it!! how do you attach a photo like that to your comments?
and another question--you said she has a book of photo-strips--where can i find it? that sounds so fun!!
and as an update--i added my profile info as promised! :)
I'm a total warn weather wuss, and we're at about the same temp in Chicago, so I'm pouting a little. It's a great shot of the thermometer. As for the rhubarb tips, I don't know if I have any. We've had so much rain this month, and it seems to be really helping along all of my veggies and herbs. My tomato plants are already pretty huge too.
It was at least 96 here today and you could cut the humidity with a knife. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse. I might just move to Alaska by the weekend! This is a wonderful shot Louise!
Love it, Louise! Your photo, your caption, and what the thermometer shows! That must be really nice for Lunenburg! Here in Missouri was a lottle but warmer...or hotter, let's say... 103 degrees... thank God for ACs! I am sure Billy & David can't say no to you and will make you some tarator. If you try iy, let me know how you liked it ;-))
i agree with Slava...it's hot here in the midwest! especially with the humidity..outdoors today was like a steam room! glad you are having nice weather, though! thanks for you lovely sentiments on my daisy photo. gigi is just about 5 blocks down from my house, so we're planning on visiting every couple days!
Great idea to show the thermometer. That is hot. I just wrote to Slava that we have here 20C (68f). I like when it's between 20-25c, enough for me. Have a lovely day.
That's so hot for so early in the day. Sit back, relax, have a glass of lemonade, maybe some strawberries, take a dip in the water and enjoy the summer.
i love the heat, too! whenever i find myself wanting to complain about being too hot - i think of winter. that bone chilling cold... ew! i'd take being sweaty over that any day. cool photo.
warm weather is always nice :) especially if you have a nice cold drink in your hands....and NO MEXICAN FOOD!!! that's upsetting, I bet there are plenty of other tastey resaurants where you are now that we dont have here though :)
Louise dear dear, what a very creative and straightforward photo to remember the first day of summer! i would not have thought of including the thermometer - this made your shot just perfect, and with the hot pink flowers and leaves that look oh-so-fresh on the side!
At that hour, the sun is actually shining on the deck and the thermometer there, so it's probably not a true reflection of the heat index around town. (Made a good story, though :-) It's toasty to sit out back on a sunny morning, but no, it's not generally humid. (The thermometer is just outside the window in the pantry http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/2068) Also, I don't know anyone up here with air conditioning. The house is usually quite cool, and is built to capture a breeze if you open the front & back door at the same time...
It seems we're all going to endure a very, very hot summer! Was 102F when I left work at 4:30pm today :/. I can't imagine how badly August is going to fry us!
ryc: I live in Tennessee, but right on the TN/NC/GA line. I actually work in Georgia and go to North Carolina once a week, living about 10-15 minutes from each state line :). Thank you for your kind comment on my profile picture! That's actually me in the skypod at the CN Tower in Toronto. My husband and I went there in April of this year :).
Thank you for being so instrumental in uplifting me.

and i'm following your daughter too now, so i will ask her about the book! :)
I can't stand hot weather.... I'd rather be an icicle than a puddle, you know?
:)
90deg F is 32deg C - nice and warm.
I can just imagine that!
