When we visited the Mediterranean region a couple of years ago, Florence was one of our favorite destinations. We were delighted to make the return trip, like visiting an old friend. We found so much of it to be easily accessible by foot, and the weather couldn’t have been more agreeable! We had deep-blue-sky backdrops for church towers and greatly-thinned groups of people at the most popular tourist destinations. Of local interest on the evening news, we learned that there was a strike at the Ufizi Museum and it was closed for 3 days. With so much to see, we were content to enjoy all that was out in the open and I had no shortage of photos. Our walk along the river took us across the Ponte Vecchio and then down the other side, where, with my back to the famous bridge, I took this picture. We couldn’t have had a prettier day, and I’m so happy to have some beautiful photo memories!
What a lovely view, and yet another unforgetable photographic memory for you to cherish. It sounds like the weather has been on your side, but even with rain, it sounds like there are ample opportunities to fill in the rainy days.
Oh my gosh - I just love traveling to such beautiful places in my pajamas!! I've really enjoyed seeing your sights and reading your descriptions of your travels this morning. Looking forward to more!
Oh, this is absolutely gorgeous! I went to Florence on a school trip several years ago and loved it. I've been promising myself to return as an adult but haven't, so your comments are a reminder!
Two treasures I bought in Florence: gold earrings for myself and a leather vest for my son the musician. He told me he wore it for a gig last week and got many comments. That made it all worthwhile!
I didn't mean to leave without commenting on your wonderful picture. The river looks so serence and the clouds really add drame to the whole landscape. It looks like a scene from the 16th century.
Another lovely photo. It sounds like you are have a great time. Be safe and thank you for sharing these fantastic photos. It is probably the only way I will ever see this part of the world.
Beautiful Louise, I'm so pleased you are having such a good time, love all the pics you have posted so far. Keep on having fun and taking great pics for us all to see.

Wow, this is so beautiful! Sure sounds like a wonderful time! You should try and get a shot of the steam from a tea or coffee cup next time you stop for a break,
Been very absent here of late, but just had to hunt you down and live vicariously through you for a moment. Looks like you're having an incredible time. Some "beautiful photo memories" indeed! Safe travels!
What a fantastic capture. Just beautiful. I am so glad you are having such a good time and able to get some wonderful memories in great photos. Glad you are having such a good time. Florence is one of my favorite cities too.
Wow! I first looked upon that view while in college (which feels like yesterday, I might add!!) and have never forgotten its beauty. So glad that the weather cooperated for you after so much rain.
Gorgeous, beautiful, amazing!! So happy you had a wonderful weather! We haven't traveled for a while now, and I miss visiting new places! My green card should arrive in a couple of weeks and then I'll be a free spirit again ;-) It's funny how when you are on a holiday you see the world through different eyes. Love that vacationer's mood :-)
It's so wonderful when you are in these places to just soak it all up, isn't it?
