I'm beginning to have separation anxiety. So much to look forward to, but before then, so much to do before we leave.
Are you like me...that when you have things you have to do you find dozens of ways to dawdle? Today I decided to learn about HDR on my camera and in Photoshop. My attempts didn't seem quite like what I've seen on 365, so I continued to play with filters. I think I can see how I'll entertain myself over the course of the summer!
I think this turned out well for a first attempt. I keep meaning to try HDR myself, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. When do you take off for the summer?
@melissapike We leave a week from Tuesday. I'll probably be dawdling around here (on 365) until then, and inspired with some new scenery to photograph when we're settled in Lunenburg for the summer a few weeks later.
Beautiful shot, Louise. Is this your back yard? I'm thinking it would be hard to leave - it's so nice! Does someone take care of your flowers for you while you're gone?
And yes, I do the same thing when I have a lot of things to do. I'll get caught up in cleaning out a drawer in my desk or some odd task that could really wait - when I should be getting to the important things.
@suelbiz47 Yes, that's home in CA & yes, we have someone looking after everything when we're away. So glad to know I'm not the only one who can get sidetracked!
Wow, what a beautiful place to live you have! i can imagine it´s hard to leave..I always have trouble getting the important things done, too. When the sun is out, it´s even harder-I just sit in my backyard napping with the cats and let the household chores wait...This is probably why it rains sometimes-so I get it all done in the end ! :-)
good luck with all your preparations!
can't believe it is already time for you to head back to Lunenburg! My how the time goes. Look forward to seeing your process with HDR, haven't tried it myself
What a gorgeous home!! Gosh, I have so many things on my plate right now that I easily get sidetracked and forget to do things. I can barely take photos and have time to edit them these days, let alone find the time to comment and look at anyone else's.
HDR is a funny thing! I love fiddling with it when I have the time but the fine tuning is really hard to get the hang of. I always end up with too much brightness in spots and some glowing parts that I can't get rid of. Then a lot of times I overdo it and it looks awful.
I think this is nicely done. I can always find fun things to do instead of things I need to do! Good luck getting things together to leave. Keep up the great experimentation!
Wow Louise, this really came out quite well! I have been leaning toward HDR myself, but it is alot to learn, so it's a little slow going. Hope you get all things accomplished!
@dailypix You get such wonderful photo of the scenes around you you don't need any editing. I'm a little disenchanted with suburban life and the lack of photographic variety (to suit my needs & style)... a little editing helps me pass the time until I can get back to Lunenburg!
You are way better than me. I bought Photoshop a couple of months ago but couldn't get the grasp yet on how to use it. I'm more comfortable using free Picnik online. *sigh* :-)

I like the artsy effect of the HDR here...
