The story behind the monthly gathering in Indian Point is that Billy would be working, and on Friday afternoons his friends would drop in and start drinking with him. To expedite his ability to get the job done, he set a standing invitation for his friends to drop in the first Friday of the month for a few hours, BYOB and mingle. We've been invited for several years, but always had something going on. On this day that we thought would be free, we got another invitation and seized the opportunity. I spoke at length with a nice young man by the name of Thane (great name, eh?) who was there with his Golden Retriever, Dante. Ken and I had a wonderful time in this crowd of about 30, though we knew only about 10 of them. Afterward we went up the coast with friends to a nice little restaurant for fish'n'chips...pretty standard fare around these parts. We had a great time...always do!
Louise, you are so kind, I have been waiting patiently for my wednesday senior discount at Denny's. I was 54 this past June. Dante and I are just a couple of old men trolling the shores of NS.
That last sentence says it all about you and Ken. You are always open to new ideas and possibilities. So glad you are back and sharing your good times with all of us.
@peggysirk "Quaint" pretty much sums it up! When Bill saw me taking pictures, he suggested I work my way over to the ladder to get this shot. That would never have happened in law-suit-happy US, considering I was standing next to the lady in the peach-colored shirt on the right to begin with!
Well done, nice little 12 and a half sloop. Love anything boaty. You have some great shots. My husband and i visited your lovely summer town 2 Septembers ago and LOVED it. I have all sorts of shots from there. we stayed in a cute little motel on the far side of the harbor that looks over to where all the activity goes on. Gorgeous.
