Still Crazy... by Weezilou

Still Crazy...

I have two lovely old crazy quilts from the 1890s (one is dated) that I keep away from bright light, but today I took them outside for photographs. They're fragile, and I seldom look at them, so it was nice to have a record of the beauty and workmanship someone stitched together so long ago.
These are beautiful! I love old quilts. My grandmother made some quilts, and I am fortunate to have them. These are treasures.

Very nice workmanship someone had a ton of talent. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful stitchery. More than a quilt--a work of art.

Beautiful. Quite the keepsakes, Louise. How did you come to get them?

Oh wow Louise, they are really quite nice, and the colors are still nice and bright.

@aglennc Funny you should ask! I remember finding one at an antique show in St Charles, Missouri, but today, when I realized I had two, I couldn't recall where I'd acquired the second one! (They've been in the same place for about 25 years!)

@Weezilou That sounds familiar. I have crazy quilt squares my grandmother did, possibly before I was born, that have never been put together. I knew it, forgot it, and discovered them in the back of a cabinet recently. Wish I had someone that could machine quilt them together for me.

Such a beautiful thing. That's what I call vintage (overused word these days).
