Pretty amazing what it takes to travel with one small baby! We had a wonderful time, and it was hard to say good-bye for the last time. (Also, I felt like "a bad mom", sending them back to Chicago's sub-zero Tundra conditions!)
Thank heaven for Skype...I would imagine we'll connect with them again tomorrow...they certainly won't be going out!
You got that right! Snow and windchills of minus 45 degrees over the next couple of days means staying close to home 'round these parts. I've sure been enjoying your pics of the visit and the grandkids, Louise! Looks like it was a wonderful holiday....and I LOVE the squirrel photos (out-takes and all!). Hoping to post a few pics myself soon. Been busy and not on the computer much...but you'll be glad to know that Deb has joined 365 (she's already following you!). Look her up and see what nifty things she's been posting the last couple of days. Happy New Year, my friend, and hugs to Ken!
Awwww. That makes me sad. I know it was hard to see them go after a wonderful holiday together. I hope they have some parkas tucked away in that luggage. What a shock to the system ~ from California poolside Christmas to Chicago deep freeze. And I agree with you, Louise, Skype is a wonderful thing...second best to being there.
Yes, Skype is ideal and now that the eldest of two and a bit recognises his opa and oma (grandparents) it 's even more fun.
Must be quiet in the house now.
Aw, sad to see them leave, but isn't Skype wonderful??!! We stay in touch with my family in Alberta with it all the time. Hope they stay warm back there in the frigid part of our part of the world. Burrrr!
Oh my that is a lot of luggage. You forget but soon to be reminded as I await my first grandchild in 14 days approx. Oh I am sure you will miss them and your house will be empty but now you have Skype to keep you going and count down until the next visit and summer in Nova Scotia. Hope your next few days are easier as you settle in.
@dora A *First* one! It all grew on me pretty quickly that I was going to like my new role...and the older they get, the more I see why I love it! My best to you...these are exciting days ahead!
@allie912 Everyone reported in that they're all back home... We've got some nice warm memories under this roof, but I said to Ken that I keep expecting them to come trooping in the front door any minute!
@taffy Not only did the lead-footed pilot get them home a half hour ahead of schedule, they said no one was in line for a taxi since so many flights had been cancelled! Luck was definitely with them! (We Skyped this afternoon & I got all the scoop!)
Time with family is do special. Glad they made it home safely we had family travelling from New York to Michigan, slow moving roads but they were safe too.
