Sandy Beach on Oahu, Hawai'i_My First Surfer Photo

I went island hopping early this afternoon to visit long-time friends in Honolulu. Ken stayed behind with your daughter & the grand kids. We dropped my bags at their house, and drove to this beach (they just live walking distance away. Color me envious!!!) The waves were crashing and the colors were breathtaking! It's amazing how two islands, side by side, can look so different! (I lived some of my early years on Oahu, so it's always like returning home...) You KNOW I'm having a wonderful time & soaking up the atmosphere!

My friend "Mitch" said for me to let you know that's her in the bikini and her husband, Will, on the surfboard. I'm buying it...

Gorgeous! I am loving these pictures of Hawaii. I lived on Oahu for awhile when I was a kid - and granted it was a million years ago - but I still feel connected to it. I can't wait to bring my family there someday and show it to them! :)

Fabulous shot! Sounds like a wonderful time with great friends! It was last year at this time we visited Hawaii, stayed mostly in Maui but spent a couple days in Oahu. Looking forward to going back one day.

@dailypix For a long while, when our girls were growing up, we stayed on Maui most of the time. This year our daughter wanted something even quieter, so we went to Kauai & loved it. Honolulu is night-and-day different from the years I lived there, but I still love it. I'm glad you had a chance to experience it, too!
