In the early morning I took more pictures of the swarm, but we left for a few hours and upon our return, the bees had moved on and this was left! Surprisingly, the few remaining bees seemed upset by my presence, though the swarm, together, was not. It's been fascinating, and I'm left to wonder...where they went...and will they return?
I feel very ignorant. Did the swarm create this in the short time (exactly how long?) they were there? It is quite beautiful although I think it looks like some organ meat I have seen some place. Cow stomach maybe?
@allie912 Yes! THAT's what's just amazing to me! I think they were in this spot for 3 days (I COULD consult my photos!) and this is what they left behind! It's truly beautiful, so translucent and "pristine"... What you're probably thinking of that you've seen is used to make "Menudo"...I think it's intestines, but now, writing that, I'm not sure and am off to look it up! (I've tried Menudo and didn't care for it one bit!)
@lynnz We have about 14 fruit trees through our yard, so I've been looking to see if they stayed nearby (as they did with their first move). It's odd, but I rather miss them!
..."honeycomb tripe (the second stomach of a cow)... (Thank you once again, Google!)
