It Was Only a Matter of Time...

Look what I've added to the photos of our ever-growing menagerie! I've waited several nights to see them with my own eyes! The little grey one came by first...then as I was trying to get a photo, she ran off with a start and the big guy came lumbering in! Soon they were together...well...first side by side...and then...*together*.

ahhh...Springtime!

...to be continued...I suppose... It would seem we have a very fecund environment in this back yard!
For Rick, you had faith that my persistence would pay off...

Cut to look at but not a good idea to attempt to cuddle them. They can be very, shall we say, "assertive"?

Oh dear, don't egg them on. We had a mommy in out chimney once year long ago, she had her babies in the chimney and one night the daddy came down the chimney and had a 'yummy time" of it. Then we had someone put a cap on the chimney!! They are cute though.

Amazing you caught them together. Have they eaten all the cupcakes??
April 2nd, 2014
@lucypics ...I'm sorry, Lucy..."cupcakes"? I toss out little marshmallows, and they love those! (This morning my husband commented that there were "marshmallows everywhere"...(which was probably only two...) but I was in a dark kitchen trying to bait them last night!
April 2nd, 2014
@lucypics ahhhhh...now I get it! The pans are there to make noise so I can hear it on the baby monitor! I'm a little slow on the uptake...but the comment was very cute!

@Weezilou now that is a clever move!

April 2nd, 2014
Great shot! Not the easiest critters to get a clear picture of.

@dailypix Thanks for "being kind"! :) The photo is "clear" except for that which "moves"...ha! This one was the best of the lot...

@bkbinthecity Rather unexpectedly, yes!
April 3rd, 2014
@dannydavies Thanks, Danny for liking them that much :) How nice to meet up with another cat lover... I've never bought one...they adopt me...if they stay long enough they have to be fixed and we make a good home for them...I'm amazed that they all get along so well!

Awesome! My kids had pet raccoons when they were growing up. We lived on a farm and got the raccoons when they were little. They were very tame. They loved to play in the wading pool and always washed their food if water was available. Have fun Louise!

@lynnz A huge thanks for the uplifting note! Not everyone is a fan...but I realize that! I, too, as a child, had a friend with a pet raccoon, so I've always been drawn to them. I don't try to pet a "wild animal", even in my yard, and I respect the boundaries. With that in mind, we're delighting in the entertainment any time we have a half hour to watch! I never dreamed I'd be having this much fun over the winter in California!

@jrambo001 without the subtlety...

Louise & Ken . The Pollard Willow and the Weeping Willow are two different trees of a same species. If you pruned a weeping you won`t get a pollard
