Richard @chard asked the other day if Frosty was still around, so here you are Richard! I've seen three different squirrels in our yard recently, but I always know Frosty as she actually runs over to greet me (well, "beg for peanuts"!) Ken got lots of photos of me feeding her this morning, and on this occasion, as I tried to give him lots of time to get his picture, I played tug-of-war with her. She finally put her feet on my fingers and won the tug! She's just the greatest little pet...Tracy will enjoy filling in for me, but I'll sure miss her!
@aglennc Most days she shows up around 8 in the morning and stays as long as there's something to eat! She first showed up at Christmas while the grand kids were here, which is why I came to name her Frosty. Since they'd asked if she'd come back, "Frosty" fit, as I said, "...she'll be back again someday!" I don't always see her every day, but often enough that I don't worry about what happened to her!
@pamknowler Thanks for the fave, Pam... I've been able to show some friends how she'll come op and, always gently, take a peanut from my fingers. She'll do that for anyone, so everybody loves her! Here's one of my grandson feeding her http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2014-05-02
The pic. was a seed head of a Clematis flower.
We do have a father day to morrow but not for this guy. I`m not very much interested and the kids always forget it and that suits me fine.
@pistonbroke You're *my kind of people*! I can't believe some people don't want to feed the squirrels, too! As I write, Ken is enlarging the base on our "bird feeder" and adding a chain from the tree so the squirrels can get to it more easily... Perhaps that's why Frosty and I get on so well!
@lisatown I had to get right back to tell you she is the gentlest little creature! This is the first time I "teased her" to give Ken time to get a photo, but typically she comes up to me slowly, waits for me to hand her a peanut, takes it gently and when I let go, she moves to wherever she wants to eat it. I have more rapport with her than I do with the feral cats that have lived in our yard for years!
