As one who's traveled since childhood (and I've always requested a window seat), I've taken an unknown quantity of photos from 32,000 feet! With few successes, I've always harbored the hope I'd come away with something recognizable. Imagine my surprise when this bracketed image of Boston popped to life!
Having logged many air miles from Halifax to Philly and then to Chicago ... on a clear day ... you can wager a guess as to how many photos I took ...
That is a great shot Louise! I can even recognize individual landmarks. And the wake from the boats in the harbor looks so cool! I wish I could say I were in that picture somewhere but I'm way out of frame. WAY, WAY out of frame.... ;)
@hbdaly Did I manage to capture that iconic band shell? We've passed it when we've visited there, but I don't know the city well enough to know the major locations... Glad you liked this...are you north of here? I got some of the coastline as well...
Louise you did capture the Hatch Shell at the Esplinade! (Although it's a little hard to see...;) if you look to the right side of the picture at the Charles River that goes off below the big downtown buildings, on the top side of the river it turns at an angle. The Hatch Shell is right there in that corner. That's where the Boston Pops play on the 4th! I live North and very west of the city - closer to the middle of the state almost. But we are only about an hour away and I do love visiting.
Love it! I lived in Boston for 2 years and still have a very soft spot for that sweet, old city. I lived just off the right side of your photo. I can recognize many neighborhoods in your picture!
a place i doubt i will set foot in, i can see in all its glory ... wonderful
