On our first day in Sherbrooke Village I wanted photos of the docents in period costume and the children in costume attending a 2-day study program. At the time I had not thought how I might use the pictures, but many of them have translated well to images of the era and the way they would have been produced and presented. Having altered this photo to a tin type, I lost the photo information, so I superimposed it on the original and reduced the colour in the background.
Since the town's pharmacist got his degree in 1889, I took some liberties to present this charming lady as his mother (who might have lived there above the shop) and assisted her son to become established in his workplace.
