Portable B&B by Weezilou

Portable B&B

I have a precious friend down the street who, along with her husband, has run a B&B here for many years. Before that, she owned-and-ran a restaurant in Saskatoon, and my-oh-my can this lady bake and cook up delectable taste treats! I often find a package of scones or cookies at my front door, an indicator that she came by and left some love.

I may have trouble keeping up the "Happy Days" when we leave this magical town!

(Hand-painted plate from Art-Gallery rummage sale: $3 & fork from my daughter, Heather's, house. Fair exchange as she often goes home with things from my art room!)

(No need to embellish this photo in any way! This scone was amazingly delicious!)
Beautifully arranged and presented. The lace background is a nice touch too.

How did you get it all to match? Incredible! The scone is just like the lovely plate! A beautiful composition, Louise!

@pyrrhula I'm sorry, Ferry! A "B&B" is short for an "Inn" or "Bed and Breakfast" (the latter having fewer rooms, but the owners typically serve a light breakfast for guests in the morning. She makes yummy foods for her guests and often leaves me some at my door as a gift. I said "portable" because she brings it down to me from two blocks away... When she does that, we feel very pampered!

I'm drooling.

Are you president of the chamber of commerce? :-)
November 24th, 2015
Oh gosh, beautiful! Both the plate and the dessert.

Looks delicious and what a beautiful plate!

I'm not surprised that your neighbors and friends are so good to you, Louise. Karma! You radiate love and kindness and its only right that you receive the same. Beautiful photo!

@dmcoile @stownsend @salza Oh thank you all so much! I didn't expect this to go to the PP! I wish I could gather all this circle of friends around my Lunenburg table one day!
November 24th, 2015
@bill_fe @lsanderson55 @lynnilou Thank you all so much! My friend, Janet, is a lovely & talented person & chef!
November 24th, 2015
@jack4john Glad you like the presentation! That's my setting, showing off the delectable taste treat from my friend, Janet! It would only be "stuff" without her delicious offering!
November 24th, 2015
@laetitiapetrussa @aglennc I almost left that plate on the table when I bought two other hand-painted plates there! So glad I went back for it; it's my favourite now, too! And Laetitia, I wish I had your skills for photographing food!

@tunia @brillomick @golftragic @joansmor Thanks for coming by with your comments! She left four of these slices for Ken and me...enough to share with a friend if you'd only been here! (Next time!)
November 24th, 2015
@redy4et Leave it to the decorator to notice that the pie matched the plate! Now that you've pointed it out, I'm happy to see that it does! Thanks, Elizabeth!
November 24th, 2015
@francoise Cranberry scones would be *delicious*! Cranberry anything! (Ken's been using the last of a large zucchini to make bread and he's been adding cranberries...scrumptious!)
November 24th, 2015
@chard Not as much as a crumb was left and I don't even have the recipe to share with you. I wish I could have been a better friend!
November 24th, 2015
@danette What a hoot! Up here, I'm not alone in voicing my feelings about this place. I probably do have the broader base of Internet friends with whom to share it, however (though this is THE ONLY social media where I post anything).
November 24th, 2015
@taffy @fntngrma I love that I can find things like this (I adore hand-painted dishes from the early 1900's when it was in vogue) at flea markets up here. I have no desire to go to garage sales in California! Thanks for the comments and for stopping by!
November 24th, 2015
@suelbiz47 Sue, what a very dear and touching comment! On that high note I'm about to end my day, and your words, alone, would be enough to chalk up another of the 100 happy days! Thanks for being such a thoughtful friend... ♥

Good night : )
November 24th, 2015
Well the look alone is delicious. I'm sure the taste is beyond.
November 24th, 2015
@Weezilou Louise, I have known Sue for over 50 years and I can attest to the fact that she truely is a one of a kind sweet person!
November 24th, 2015
Thank you for you explanation dear Louise but the question marks where not mean for this. I did understand it. The question marks are for why /and I do, receive no comments anymore ? My excuse is : by this I think you so busy you`ve no time left. Any apology accepted in advance.
November 24th, 2015
@pyrrhula Oh Ferry, I owe you apologies! Yes, I'm busier here in Lunenburg than when we're back in California! Today we went out to our lot and cut some Christmas trees and greens for decorating. Thursday is Thanksgiving & we've invited a couple of people. I got a call at dinnertime to help a friend try to make a calendar to order; I think she was lonely and wanted to visit. THIS was my quietest day of the week! I find fungus & photograph it, planning to share with you and time eludes me! All that said, I will go see what you have been posting! Better that then sitting here telling you why I'm too busy! Apologies, m
friend...I do not mean to abandon you or anyone else! Forgive me?
November 25th, 2015
@Weezilou Thanks dear Louise. No apology needed as I `ve nothing to forgive. I just was wandering what`s happen. I need to send you a letter soon to answer all you questions and to get by. (How do you say you want to write/tell the last adventures and gossips ?)
November 25th, 2015
