Thank you all so very much for embracing my last post of the child at the tide pools. Being house-bound was an opportunity to draw on some earlier photos and play with the post processing I’m enjoying so much! This “cold/flu” is a miserable, exhausting one, and I was sad to hear my daughter, now back in Chicago, went home with it as well. I also heard from my friend, Sue @Swazzette, that she’s just coming out the other side of it, so if others of you are down for the count, my very best to you, sincerely! It’s a tough one to shake off, and there’s so much more I know we’d all rather be doing!
I dug into the files for this photo, too, and tried to give it an entirely different mood and esthetic. I’m so far from knowing how to do this all “correctly”, I do believe “fun with textures” can be very forgiving.
This picture was taken in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia, July 15, 2010
Oh, my! This certainly looks like a beautiful painting, and I wouldn't mind seeing it hanging on my wall. Amazing processing! I wish you and anyone else suffering with a cold/flu better days --- and soon!
Rob and I have been sick the whole month! Now U have the 'walking flu'. No fever but severe body aches, headaches and a horrible cough. Unfortunately I only get 5 sick days at work so had to go in most days. I've never been this suck so long! Ugh!
Louise I'm sure if you think about it you'll already know what I am going to say you should do with this picture... ;) What a good one it would make! A truly lovely scene....
@janetb Janet, Thank you so much! This dory is always in the same location, but with tides and lighting, it's always new to our eyes. I'd enjoy it hanging, also, liking the image, obviously, since 2010!
This is just stunning Louise! Fabulous composition! Your processing is beautiful! This makes me want to sit on the lakeside and just look at this view! I would love to visit California but am torn by the beauty of Nova Scotia! Fav!
@pamknowler You need to tell me what you hypothetically want to see if you were to visit California... You have family in the Bay Area? It's beautiful up there and easier to get around than here in the LA Basin. San Diego is gorgeous, too, and I'd go there any chance I'd get. But that said, if I had a choice as to where to go on my dying day, it would be to Nova Scotia. I won't go on here, but let me regale you when we're together!
@Weezilou yes we need to talk Louise so that I can plan my next trip to the US! Lol! My godson lives and works in Davis and I would love to see him at some point. So many places to see - I just need a traveling companion!
@pamknowler A teacher/professor, perhaps? After 14 years, we only just met a couple living in Lunenburg as long as we have...they were both professors at UC Davis. Looking forward to chatting with them more when we return! ...How I wish I could pair you with a long-time friend here...early 70s, widowed 6 years and loves dogs...she would give the world to find someone with whom to travel! She's "comfortably well off", but what to do when there's no one to do it with!
@Weezilou yes he is doing research at UC Davis - his first post grad job after getting his doctorate at Oxford. When I come to California you will have to introduce me to your friend.
@danette@pflaume@sstcowan Thank you all so much for the kind words. @gaylewood Believe me, it's all trial and error. I'm more often than not as amazed as anyone with what's possible! Again, to you all, thank you!
Lovely processing Louise. I don't know what the original shot was like but I do like what you've presented here. Hope the cold clears up soon .It can be so debilitating
