This is Sweet ol' Dusty, mother of my black cat, Pink. She's been feral in our yard for years...won't let me touch her or even come close. While I'm delighted to have this photo of her, I'm even happier with my new camera that took this from the back door, across the pool and to this far corner in the yard!
I may happily retire my heavy camera and the big lens...this suits my needs just fine!
@pamknowler@tj22 Thanks, ladies! Can you imagine a cat who is never loved and petted? She nearly never leaves the yard..."but don't touch me!" I want so badly to give her a good brushing!
It's a special thing to have an aloof animal happily spend time in your yard. She's lovely. Nice tip on the camera. After this year's project I'm going to buy myself a camera and have even more fun!
She's a beautiful cat, and she must view your yard as a place of comfort (even without hugs). How sweet that she loves you in her own way. This is a beautiful capture with its composition and pretty light!
@stray_shooter Thanks! I really love the close up on this one. I gave my older model to my daughter and she's enjoying it as well! Ken's excited to have some newly-found lensed for the camera...says he wants to start using it! Do you think he'll see through my motivation if I get him an ND filter for his birthday?!
Not at all. In fact I think I remember him whispering to me recently that he was really wishing he had an ND filter. ND10000 if I recall correctly. ;-)
Congrats with you new camera. Hope to see lots of pic.`s from it
