On this evening Ken and I had just left a music venue in time to go look for the rising full moon. When the cloud cover allowed only a soft circle of light to shine through, we were already situated to commit to some night photography and I turned the camera on the town. There was a second music venue taking place on the hill, a marvelous trio of musicians whom we'd heard play last year, and my thoughts turned to the sacrifice we'd made to miss one and select another! With the water reflections and the last glow of the setting sun, we agreed that some sacrifices come with consolation gifts!
Wow! Such a spectacular image, Louise! I was curious about The Castle on the Hill so I did some google research and read all about the Lunenburg Academy and then went on to read about The Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance. So interesting! Fav for sure! :-)
@hbdaly ...there's just something magical about a town called *Lunenburg* as I'm sure you know ;
@ethelperry Always a delight to have you come by Ethel! May I say that even this is for OUR own delight, as we seldom venture out on the golf course at night for this view!
@bkbinthecity It was Brian, Thanks! This is the Lunenburg Academy, built in the late 1800s and now is the home to LAMP, the Lunenburg Academy of Musical Performance. The director brings in talented musicians from Canada and Europe, as well as hosting Master classes for exceptional and select musicians on the rise.
@pamknowler The final conclusion was that this ended up being the best choice as we had excellent music that also ended in time for photos as well!
@gaylewood Funny, I only thought to call it that as it looked like a Disneyland Castle at night! Who know that "castle" would bring up the Academy! Gotta love Google!
@jerome High praise, Jerome, from such an artistic photographer as you! If other's I've just left notes for are reading this, Jerome is new to 365 and from Austria. His work, IMO is marvelous!
@maggiemae Thank you Maggiemae! Are you enjoying your travels? Are you in Halifax now? Let me know if you'd like a meet-up; We've got the next couple days free. Are you planning to se Lunenburg? We'd certainly love to say hello! If you're busy, I completely understand! At any rate, safe travels!
