On our old old (VERY old) tree, one remaining branch still manages to breathe out blossoms and holds intact for one more year at a time as the apples grow and fall. Each year we think will be its last, but I'm glad this wasn't the one!
@chard Not much trunk there to climb! Pretty much a hollow core! Their memory will be sitting on the curb with a box of the apples and waiting for the carriages to come to the watering trough so they can hand them over! Even as I write, the boys are out for a carriage ride with their dad! Made pralines today and I wonder if the horses would like some without the nuts! (Probably!)
Beautiful shot of those lovely apple blossom.
My best chilhood memory of an apple tree. In our neighbourhood we lived then there was a nun cloister with an apple orchard. We climb over the wall and steal some of the apples. The police catch us and lock us in a cell. They call my dad to get me home. He ask: do you need that cell for to night? No? Can you keep him for a while? We learned lesson well.
