Any Canadians Missing Their Geese?

They followed me home ...
May I keep them?
Wow such a typical capture of these birds!

@radiogirl haha...doing what geese do, but these are on winter holiday! Fine dining without the effort!

Love it!! We have sooo many here! I like them though esp the babies!!

@brillomick This captures an expanse of about 1/3rd of them in front of me. I came looking for an open space where I could see the clouds hanging over the mountains, but got distracted by the wildlife! Thanks Mickey!

Good grief! You're right! Are there any left in Canada??? This is an awesome find and shot.. This wasn't in your front yard was it??? They must be having a convention....... or a destination family reunion..

Please keep them - unless they're flying back to announce the arrival of spring, they're just noisy poop machines!

@aglennc Ran some errands in the local vicinity and love this little park. I was ready for some photos NOT in my yard for a change!

@elkereturns Ken says you're right about that! I think he's referring to the local golf course!

yes, keep 'em, we'll send you more. but i'm afraid you'll regret it soon. they poop everywhere, they're loud and if you feed them, they won't leave. don't say we didn't warn you. :-D

I agree with the others. They eat four times their weight every day and poop five times their weight. Average interval between poops: 12 minutes. That's whey we call them Canadian geese.

As @summerfield said.
January 10th, 2017
Hahahaha I love all the comments and advice...I guess they're yours now ☺
January 10th, 2017
I've got some, too. Shall I send them your way?
January 10th, 2017
@stray_shooter - hey, watch out, you! :-P here we call them russian geese!
January 10th, 2017
yep they are all yours :)
January 10th, 2017
Whatever their names, you don't want them at your place!
January 10th, 2017
@golftragic OK...truly I was just joking! A mallard or two for a brief daily visit is all we need! ...BTW...I don't believe I've ever seen you photograph your amazing variety of birds. They may not be of interest to you, but do you have them in plentiful numbers? It is a bit heartbreaking when they hit the windows... : (
January 10th, 2017
@Weezilou Sorry Louise, I don't mind looking at birds casually, but have little or no further interest in them. As for photos, they become a bit same-same after a while. Nah, I'll stick to my own industrial and grungy stuff. As for the geese, your garden wouldn't survive the assault of munch and pooping.
January 10th, 2017
@golftragic ...yep, as I expected to read, but was suddenly curious... It's the variety that people bring to this site that's the reason we follow some and not another!
January 10th, 2017
I am loving the comments! So funny! I have often taken photos of Canadian Geese and never realised the poop problem when there are so many together! I do hope they didn't follow you!
January 10th, 2017
Ha ha ... a lot of them are in the Paris area too! ;-)
January 10th, 2017
@jamibann Those Canadians @radiogirl @elkereturns @summerfield aren't keeping very good tabs on their fowl-birds! From all people are saying, they seem to have a very tawdry reputation!
@aglennc @stray_shooter @frankhymus @annied @pcarlaw @koalagardens @golftragic @pamknowler Thanks for joining in the fun! I will NOT be bringing any of these home with me!
January 10th, 2017
LOL

Have them here in NZ too - we're right under their flight path and often find they've offloaded on the cars on their way overhead!
January 10th, 2017
Terrific capture and tritle :)
January 10th, 2017
Love these geese. We never see them
January 10th, 2017
Great comments here! I just like seeing the green grass!!
January 10th, 2017
Yes, you may and watch your where you step.
January 10th, 2017
this is wonderful! love the gray and green.
January 10th, 2017
What a fun thing to see!
January 10th, 2017
ali
ah how fun!
January 10th, 2017
Don't go barefoot in the grass.
January 10th, 2017
Funny, wish they would take some back from Cape Cod too. You aren't near any of the CA rains that have flooded things are you?
January 10th, 2017
We have much to much of them now. Gooses. They are protected but now they are eating all the grasses and new seeded grows of the farmers. and the number increase by every next year
January 10th, 2017
They look so happy on the green lawn!
January 10th, 2017
I almost snorted as I read your caption, than looked at your picture. Hilarious!
January 11th, 2017
@Weezilou Absolutely, both photos and people.
January 11th, 2017
@allie912 YOUR laugh gave ME a laugh! Who knew that this would take off and garner so much conversation! "Spend hours" or "Grab a Snap"... One never knows what's going to resonate!
January 11th, 2017
@pyrrhula Oh I've seen THAT in action in fields! I'm sure they've become a menace! Rational people might put a few of them on the dinner table during the planting season ; D
January 11th, 2017
Lol you might as well keep them, they won't be treated better than with you! :)
January 11th, 2017
@Weezilou I'm surprised they don't recognize you and are coming to your yard on their own!!
January 11th, 2017
@Weezilou Love them too. ( Don`t tell any one)
