We had another wonderful day with local friends today. There was a morning visit with a very long-time friend, one of those comfortable "let's just sit and talk and catch up" out on the patio looking out to the ocean. I love the coastal life!
Yesterday, as we arrived back, I ran into a couple, former neighbors of John and Ash. They'd moved to a new house on campus and she wanted us to come for dinner tonight and see their place. Once more, the view was amazing, and it was so nice to catch up with them as well. Their daughters and our boys are the same ages and have been in school together from the start; they all play together beautifully. And then there's Laulau (the cat).
Laulau has a checkered history here on campus. She roams where whim takes her. She used to walk into Ashley's house and make herself at home. Her "worst" incident was the time she was found eating tuna at the salad bar in the dining hall! Now the school administration had their eye on her and she was put on house arrest! Anna Lee is a math teacher here, so she was completely embarrassed by the whole affair, but still, "Everyone Loves Laulau"!
She's one of those "I don't really care WHAT you think" cats...and she continues to get away with it!
I can't wait to get a nice-sized print of this for her family as I think they'll love it. They already have many of my photos hanging at their house, so it's a pleasure to know they appreciate them!
I love the folded towel for LauLau, that says more about his importance than anything could. Such a beautiful photo, they will adore having a print of their very own. Bad kitties really are more fun, LauLau has a reputation to uphold, for sure!
@Weezilou Yes. Love the decoration on it. Wander if it is handpainted or made by print technics. For me, I love both if it is made with great craftmanship.
@pyrrhula I'll ask Anna Lee as, to me it has the look of a hand decorated piece, and even over dinner she was discussing buying a painting from one of the faculty members. She has a nice selection of art in her house, so I know she'd be delighted to know someone thought enough about this piece to ask! Thanks Ferry!
This is so pretty. Love the combination of colors.I knew this was yours Louise before I saw your name. Great still life. You were lucky Kitty obliged you to sit still and not make it a "moving" life.
