The little family came in by train to spend a last weekend with us, so I've no shortage of photos. Overheard early on was, "Grandma sure takes a lot of photos!", but, bless them, they're most agreeable to let me do it! Only once did I have to resort to a bribe cookie.
Rather than add another grandson photo to fill a slot, here's how I spent an hour while Ken took them back to the train. It feels so fulfilling to stack several techniques and come back with an image I never could achieve back in art school! Had photography or computer arts been available, I'd have been in my element. At least I still have time to to find such great pleasure in this!
Louise I love this as I am the same as you. I was always useless at drawing or painting, but with editing programs we can now achieve what we want to. It's great. As for your grandchildren, mine say the same things!
Love love love it! You are really honing your skills now Louise! Sounds like a perfect weekend with the family. It's hard for you and them I expect knowing it will be a little while before you are together again. At least you have lots of pics! Fav for Tigger!
@shepherdmanswife It's such a pleasure to read of another who "suffered the inability" to transfer to canvas what was in my mind's eye! The pleasure actually comes in that you found this outlet as well! What a joy it is! (And don't we just adore those "funny" grandkids?!)
@pamknowler Thanks so much Pam! Suddenly I'm learning "just enough" to break the rules and come away with some results I find pleasing as well! We had such a great weekend...the temps were about 27-28.on Sat and the boys were in the pool by 7 AM! (Same this morning, too!) It was VERY hard to say goodbye today as it WILL be a little while just when we've been used to visiting almost every weekend!. We're ALL going to be very busy until they come up to see us, so onward and upward! I hope you had an excellent weekend!!!
Ah you are being an artist again, of course that is nothing new. Tigger has never looked better! Wouldn't this be fabulous mounted on canvas and hanging on the wall?! Just wonderful and a fav for me, for sure! How fun for the boys to take the train to your home, memories they will never forget, I'm sure!
@ethelperry You're an artist Ethel... I *NEED* to have breaks to relax and do this, just as you relax by doing your very intricate needlework! I don't try to overthink it, but to be intuitive...and every once in a while...something turns out well! (I've been involved in needlework over the years as well, but there there are patterns to follow!)
