Yesterday at the party, I told my neighbor I'd share some of the photos I'd taken of friend's Christmas trees this year. As I went through my files and gathered them, I realized a slideshow would make something cohesive of the group.
...but what for background music?
At this noon-time concert on Dec 20th I recorded the background music and had asked the musicians if they would allow me to post it on Youtube. While it's not just a video of them performing, I hope they would like what I did with their delightful music! Lasting just over 2 minutes, I hope you'll enjoy it too...
...and then I'm packing away *Everything Christmas* until Next December!
I truly think there is something very different about christmas where it gets truly cold - beautiful slide show and the music was a delight, great that you could use it!
@koalagardens My good friends in Sydney tell me that's why folks celebrate "Christmas in July" Down Under! I confess that I loved being in the snow through New Year's Eve...and then back to short's weather in So California!
@kwind Thanks, Kim! I'll miss all the many concerts in Lunenburg that were so easily available!
@seattlite Thanks, Gloria! I hadn't planned it would all fall together like this, but I can't wait to share this with all of them in the video! (It's what happens when we never leave home without our cameras!)
@ethelperry Oh Ethel, thank you so much! While I've not been able to keep up with my posts as I might have liked, I did have the pictures all along, and I'm so happy to share "my Christmas story" in this way. Once more, I truly thank you...and I think of you so often!
@casablanca In the summer months, and again in December, there's a free noontime concert in the church...usually just a half hour or 45 min. They're always wonderful and I try never to miss them...I think of them "...as a pause in the day's occupation..." to quote Longfellow...
Wow this is amazing..............love the music and the images you used, you are such a talented lady!
I just made my first slideshow today, I like how you have each photo moving in and out, I will have to see if I can do that in lightroom.
Where did you make your slideshow Louise?
@radiogirl I've only used Lightroom when I need to adjust the colour of the video (if it was taken indoors, for example). LR keeps saying I need Quicktime, so maybe that would be the added feature for making movies?. I use Movie Maker which came with Windows on my computer. It's pretty simple, but I can achieve what I want in a pretty straightforward manner. It didn't come with directions which should give you an idea how easy it is to figure out! If you don't have it with your computer, you could probably just download it off the internet. Let me know...
@rosiekerr What a lovely note, Rosie! So good to hear from you! You can see why there wasn't time to post often, but I'm most appreciative that my friends like it and that I could share one last round of Christmas with you! Happy New Year to you and Tim as well!
Hi Louise Thinking of you and our California friends - hope you and yours ok. Terrible news coming our way of mud slides and loss of life. Let us know you're ok.
@Cherrill Oh Cherrill, thank you for your thoughts and concern. We're waiting, too, for more news. Our daughter's family stayed on campus in Carpinteria with all the others, but they're without electricity and, while safe, even her first-hand news is horrifying. Many day students are from the nearby Monticito area, so we all await that... In a way, cathartic for me, I'm putting together another video that will tell the before and after story from my perspective as a frequent visitor to the area. I hope to post it by the end of the day because I know the world has heard about this, and might want to hear more from a 365 family-member living at the fringes. Thanks for asking; I'll post an update as I know it soon.
@louannwarren Oh Lou Ann, I suspected you'd love seeing how other of my friends decorated for Christmas! Our wee little tree was cut out on our property, and I purposefully chose a tiny one because I couldn't bear to take down anything larger before Christmas! Hearing of all you're packing away, I know you understand! ...I'll reply to your letter when I complete and post the next video...you and Jerry are in my heart and prayers...sending love...♥
Louise I have just watched this wonderful slide show and listened to the beautiful music! What a treat! So many beautiful Christmas trees! A brilliant idea put together so well! I really loved this! Huge fav! It was good to recognise some of the places and even better to see some familiar faces!
@kwind Thanks, Kim! I'll miss all the many concerts in Lunenburg that were so easily available!
@jamibann And that's what happens when you never leave home without a camera...even one to record music! Thanks!
