The Fortune Cookie by Weezilou

The Fortune Cookie

I saw that Dawn was asking for some more entries in the Macro Christmas table decoration theme, so to show my support, though clearly not a true macro, I decided to share the following story from Saturday night's dinner party. (Did I mention *everything* was decorated to the nth?!) I was covering every item when I came to this large cookie...

Kristen, Tuyen's daughter noticed and told me there was a story with that. She'd gone to a new bakery that had wonderfully decorated Christmas confections. She picked up the unmarked cookie, and at the cash register was told it cost $14! She said she was a bit embarrassed but didn't want to remove it from her purchases. She was then told that the purchase entered her into a raffle for a pair of tickets to see "The Nutcracker"...and so far there were only 3 entries!

End Story, She Won! She gave the tickets to her cousin who was delighted to receive them, and after I had her pose with this "Cost-a-Fortune" cookie, we decided we should get together to make big fancy cookies for Valentine's Day!

What a great story and very tasty image to go with it!

@pamknowler It was a shortbread cookie, so not difficult to make at all! I think we could decorate way better than that, and for a fraction of the cost!!!

@Weezilou it did sound rather pricey!

So that's the famous $14 cookie. Hmmmm. I haven't tasted it but I know your merangues taste better. Can't wait to see your valentine cookies. They already have Valentine products in the stores and I'm just getting over Thanksgiving!
