Fresh Photo Ops!!! Ken came home from working out and called me to see the mama duck and no fewer than her 12 ducklings! Click! click! One neighbor said, "They're going to your house!" While hopeful, I had to see it to believe it... Well! New members in my Peaceable Kingdom; 12 to be exact! They swam all day, and slept under mother's wings over night. Today they're in an intense course of study...remembering where to get out of the pool and how to make it to the grass for meals! I may get little done today as we're having such fun watching them! We've had workmen painting the house, and the yard furniture is in disarray, blocking our view and making photography difficult, but it's most important she feel comfortable and welcome; We couldn't be more excited!
Loving your new visitors! So sweet! I hope they stay and that we see many more photos as they grow! Ken is very kind to let them stay in the pool! Lol!
@danette My my my! I learn something new everyday! I'd not heard of these famous fowl, but "Thank You Google!" https://www.peabodymemphis.com/peabody-ducks What a fun story! Mine are certainly not domesticated, and while the babies are small, we're not even using the yard, but turning it over for child-rearing! I clearly recognize what a lot of work it would be to raise 12 toddlers, so the yard is hers! She seems to be here to stay for the duration!
So cute and lovely captured. Fav.
Thanks for letting me know you`re back on 365. Have missed you and wander why. Hope you will stay a while more . Greatings for Goes
@pyrrhula Thanks, Ferry! We've been well and now have had our shots. This past year I began so many art projects, I was fully involved in them and fell away from social media. While I have something to photograph (my ducklings!) I may stay around a while, but won't be here as much as I used to. Maybe again someday... You and Ina take good care of each other; I've missed you as well!
@Weezilou Thank you for you nice lines and lovely concern. I was expecting some like that. Good friends accept sometimes you need time by yourself. Greatings to Ken too.
@pyrrhula What a thoughtful, good friend you are, Ferry. At our ages, I do understand the additional concern for each other! I don't believe I would ever have taken so much time for myself if we hadn't been told to stay home and away from people! I began to see how nice it was to work on projects without interruptions and I've been enjoying my artistic exploration and time to read! It's all been fun and I never had time to be bored! I shopuld add that Ken is now the family cook; he loves trying new recipes! We have a good friend whose husband died just before Christmas, and we bring her dinner every night, so Ken cooks for 3! Saturday we'll add a daughter and grandchildren and have a full dining table again for a week! Hooray!
I would get nothing done and lots of photos. These are adorable and your pictures and composition of them are priceless. Also so very happy to see you back again Louise.
