We're staying in Carpinteria, the sweetest little beach town. We went out for a morning walk to do some window shopping, and ended at the beach on the board walk for more lovely sand-and-sea pictures. Later, we spent a few hours at the Santa Barbara Mission, built by the Jesuits in 1778. Missions were built about 25 miles apart during that era, so that they were no more than a day's walk from one another; they're an important part of California's early history. From there we went into my favorite shopping district in Sta Barbara for a light lunch, drove to the end of the pier (a novel access not available on most piers) before closing down the day for a breather before a late-Sushi dinner.
Of many many photos of a lovely day with friends, this little guy symbolized the tranquil pace and an idyllic location where we spent our time.
Thank you for the lovely comments, and I hope you understand that getting something posted uses my brief amount of free time. I'll catch up later when the "fun-in-the-sun" days are but a marvelous memory!
