Rare Bird by Weezilou

Rare Bird

I begin with a simple notion, and suddenly I'm off somewhere I never expected to go! I sent this image to my cousin this morning, but as it was when I photographed it. "maybe I should remove a little of this..." I thought and now here I am! I don't know that it's possible to know how these textures will end up, but I'm learning some small controls. This bird is from the Himalayan mountain region, and I was satisfied that the coloration now behind him looks as though it might be fitting for that area.

I suppose you'll let me know. I certainly am loving this, and more so, having this exotic bird with such exquisite coloration to work with !

(This photo is a flashback to Saturday Jan 18, 2016 at the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido, California)

@thirdjoe @jamibann Thank you both so much! I have *the best* time making these! I should feel guilty for not following through on other commitments...but I don't ;) With x-number of days in a lifetime, I want to make some of it fun!

so glad you are having such a wonderful time experimenting with your creations. I love the background behind this magnificent bird. I'm with you, other things can wait while you play with your creativity.

just gorgeous (and feeling somewhat jealous of ... I think the freedom you're feeling to abandon yourself in time)

terrific processing Louise, I know what you mean about the background, it does hint of Himalayan mountains but also it gives it an appearance of an Audubon painting!

@joysfocus Hi Joy! Thanks so much for the high praise! Honestly, this is my favorite of the texture things I've done so far. I'll see to it that you get a copy one of these days...I DID order some cards... And Joy, I never heard the word epidural used for these back injections in the spinal discs, but I think it worked!! This is the first really good relief I've had since the fall! I think of you when I'm there, ready for the procedure, thinking how it is that you must do much the same thing! The folks in there are so very very nice...I just can't keep dropping in to visit every two weeks, however! Thanks for asking!
