New Neighbors/Neighbours

This pair of Mallards is not the pair that came around for several years. She had a distinctive limp, and he was so attentive to her, making sure she ate while he kept an eye on the yard. (hmmm...sounds a little like Ken and me!) THIS couple...he's not terribly solicitous toward her, eating before she does... He's handsome, for sure, but good manners would be a plus, and she looks deserving... They must still be young... He's trainable...

Thank you everyone who commented on yesterdays photos and sent some to the popular page! I really enjoy our 'round the world visits!
I'm sure you'll have him whipped into shaped pretty soon Louise, I have every confidence in you.

Do you have a sign in your yard in wildlife language? "All animals welcome"!! This is incredible. Sure wish we have this wild kingdom in just our neighborhood........ Our yard is fenced and "fine mesh wired to keep squirrels, rabbits, etc. (and snakes) out! We had to resod a large area of our back yard after being gone a summer several years ago. Rabbits feasted while we were gone, and John decided that was going to be the last time.
