From the Camera of the Most Clueless Photographer on 365!
OK...So I'm reading the thread about sending eclipse photos... (I'd seen a few "red moon" photos today) and there are images that look a little like mine... I go to the calendar and see that the 15th is a full moon (*light goes on*... A full moon is not supposed to look like this!)
Over the course of the evening yesterday we'd changed time zones...I'd watched no television while we were away... On the plane I changed my time setting on the camera, so it was just after 11 we arrived home...I see the moon and try to get a photo (this, above...)
Can you believe I was still up and awake for the next two hours but didn't know what was going on just outside! Drat drat double drat! So near and yet so far!
Louise, this is phenomenal!! (Even for not having a clue about it...... haha!) I went to bed last night. John "confiscated" my new camera and went outside. He got some nice shots, but surely NOT like this. Incredible. Congratulations on it!!
@aglennc You're most kind ;) Good for John to have saved and savored the moment! I've been reading about others up in the middle of the night, dealing with frigid temperatures... here we were...warm...clear...I had the perfect vantage point and a place to rest the camera even without a tripod! Perhaps "The Story" I got will be better to share than the picture! (At least I'm telling myself that!)
@lachapaudie Hi Sue! THANKS for that excellent information! We'll be in Nova Scotia in October...back here in April...so if I pay attention, MAYBE I'll have another chance! ,,,AND...I was just thinking of you earlier! You'd asked about my epiphyllum blossom in the past, and we have a fresh one today...they're about as rare as lunar eclipses! I'll post it and let you know... Always so nice to hear from you and have you visit!
Have a look at this for details of the next three eclipses! http://earthsky.org/science-wire/get-ready-a-tetrad-of-lunar-eclipses-starting-in-april
