I was up early this morning and took my camera out to capture some of what I don't usually see. The sun had just risen over the house next door, so it was the first light in our yard, but I have yet to learn if that qualifies for the Golden Hour. I spent some of this afternoon applying textures to photos with the free software I got when Jocasta pointed it out on a recent thread (and I love it!) Without any texture application, I thought the shadows here mimicked the textures we'd be willing to pay for.
Love those shadows in the background. And the early morning light just touching daisy is terrific. I'm pretty sure the golden hour is both sunrise and sunset. Very pretty capture!
@chard If "sleeping in" is a lack of motivation, it explains why I miss most the of early morning light! I'm I night owl, so late afternoon suits me beautifully! (We're now up the coast with the kids, and I'm plotting my photo shoots, amidst babysitting requests...)
@Weezilou i have always been an early riser, but nykki the siamese has decided 4 Am is the right time. grrrrrr. i used the calculator and my golden hour was just about what i expected, and i do sometimes go out at that time.
