"We'd Like Two Servings of Marshmallows to Go, Please..."
I could have made this look better by cropping it, but I wanted you to see how tiny they are! (And they're both bigger than the runt!) The couple of friends here whom I've shown this to have said the neighbours would hate me for entertaining them, but I'd rather be known as "That Crazy Californian" then let these little guys go hungry (and dig up my garden looking for dinner!) I don't mind at all that you tell me anything you'd like about them...I just can't resist the cuteness factor!
Regarding that dreadful-looking deck...we've let it go as it's being torn out and replaced in a few weeks... I'll have to put up a road-side diner...
@allie912 Oh the funny ways we come to know one another! I don't want to over-do the raccoon photos, but I loved that mother & these two came right up to me at the threshold. I don't plan to try to touch them...and this is as far as I'll allow them to go, but I was dropping little marshmallows for them and just enjoying them immensely!
@lynnz I went back to my post in California when we had raccoons in the yard http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2014-04-02 I thought it might have been you who told me about the marshmallows! It wasn't then, but it was on 365 that someone said their mother gave the racoons marshmallows, so that's where I learned that they liked them! I never would have guessed that they have a sweet tooth!
@kwiksilver How funny! I didn't see Mama's toes in the photo! They're becoming quite used to me standing in the door and photographing them, so the mother & two of the three babies come right up...and I drop little marshmallows down for them! My toes are only inches on the other side of the threshold... (They're no longer skittish, but if I made a sudden move at them, they'd run; they're not at all aggressive...)
