Our After School program had its Open House today for faculty, and tomorrow the students move into their new space. They have been making do in classrooms around the school and now finally they have their own dedicated space on the ground floor of the newly expanded kindergarten building. I have never seen such beautiful facilities with areas for quiet study and homework, snack bar and cooking, art and dramatic play areas, laptop computers and two video areas for Wii play. In addition there is a science lab, a Lego table, a puppet theater and of course cupboards for games and books. Everything is brand new and was designed with the input of the program director. The program is licensed for 100 students but I'm sure when word gets out, everyone will want to sign up!
