Brassia orchid by annied

Brassia orchid

This week I'll be posting the orchids that flower in the garden around this time of year. (which is January in this album lol)
Brassia is a genus of orchids in the Eastern hemisphere commonly called the “spider orchid” due to the long, bizarre shapes of its sepals, which spread out like a spider’s legs.
This one never fails to put on a showy display.
How beautiful, it’s rare to see orchids growing outdoors here so a double treat!

@365anne yes the weather is certainly to cool for orchids outdoors - we are lucky here in Sydney to have a climate suitable for so many different plant varieties.
