Pink Flower

Using the wet on wet oil painting method.

Needs a little more detail in the center of the flower, I think. What do you think?

I love its dreaminess, the abstractness, the gentle pastel colours, the those gentle graduations and values of the green. I think more detail in the centre would ttake away the abstract dreaminess. Love it @salza Sally

@salza Great flower Sally. It could use a bit more detail in the middle. I love to paint wet on wet always a challenge!

@salza this is so pretty!!! But there is detail in the center. You might give it a try an darken the stamens a bit. What's the worst that can happen?
I love the color palette and i might give the tutorial a try, but in acrylics. Won't promise, because plans pile up.
Very good, Sally!

@salza This is lovely and a very soft pink. Maybe a little more attention in the centre but not too much.

sally, i'm so glad we lured you into painting again. i've always been jealous that you could draw and paint and now i get to play with you sometimes.

this is such a dreamy flower; the colours are like angel's kisses (although i wouldn't really know what an angel's kiss is as i've only been kissed by devils and demons🤣🤣🤣) but it feels so baby soft. i lost my trend of thoughts with my devil comment, sorry.

@salza This is so nice to look at and I agree that it has a dreamy and soft look to it. It reminds me very much of a hibiscus. They have pretty large stamens, so if it were a hibiscus I would want to see that. But if it is more like the zinnia it wouldn't need that center detail. I think the shading and grading is just perfect, you can see the difference from one petal to another. I am a little prejudice towards pink!

This is really pretty. I think it needs more definition in the centre but that's the opinion of someone who can't draw/paint to save their life

@salza You have done an excellent job of delineating the petals and their textures. I love the contrast of pink against the green background. What would you do to give the center more detail? I Think you can be proud of this the way it is!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond @jacqbb @monikozi @wakelys @summerfield @theredcamera @kjarn @grammyn thank you for the comments and critique. On the weekend I may play around with the center of the flower - being a wet on wet oil painting it's still not dry but should be dry enough to add some detail to it.

@salza how long does it take to dry oils!! Does that mean you can remove and adapt much later?? Please do show if you make changes.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond oils can take a few days before they are touch dry and up to 6 months before dry enough to seal. When still wet colours blend very easily hence doing fine details can be frustrating.
I will definitely share if I decide to go ahead with more details.
