the nearly full
moon
woke me at three,
her beams
piercing
the dark like
a lighthouse beacon
guiding
my eyelids
to lift to her
light
I was awakened by the bright moonlight illuminating the bedroom from the hall window. It was a sight I've never experienced in this house, sleeping in that bedroom in my childhood with my grandmother and living here in my adulthood since the late 70s. The moonbeams were focused directly on my face, it woke me and of course my iPhone camera was handy.
