Regal Eagle

Didn't have my new, more powerful lens with me when I saw this eagle. Otherwise, I imagine it would have been a truly satisfying shot. Had to crop this quite a bit to bring the eagle in sufficiently.

Great capture! I've only seen a few eagles in the wild but it's always incredible.

@redy4et Thanks for your visit and comment! There are two eagles that regularly sit in trees down near the river across the highway from us. Exciting to discover that, of course! Yesterday, though, we were out and about and saw a sight that would make any bird photographer drool. Two eagles were on a frozen pond right alongside the road, eating something. I wanted to cry, as there is NO safe place to stop for a photo in that portion of the road and traffic was coming up behind us. So, only in my dreams!
