A Wedding like none other

It was on this date in 1988 that Edmonton experienced it's own version of a royal wedding.
Edmonton Oiler hockey star married Hollywood Actress Janet Jones. The ceremony took place at St Joseph's Basilica. 650 invited guests watched the ceremony while over 5000 people lined the streets outside of the church in hopes of catching a glimpse of the couple as the emerged from the church.
Enjoy this little bit of Edmonton history and I hope you all have a great week
