So while out shopping with Melody's parents for a piano lamp we saw this rather unusual upright piano. It is a little on the small side which explains the small amount of keys. The owner got it from a customer and he restored it. It does make a great conversation piece and a nice picture
The first thing I noticed about this interesting photo is the stool. I have one quite similar that came with the used piano my parents purchased when they wanted me to start piano lessons..... too many decades ago to think about... Oh well, late 40s. Years later they sent the piano to an children's home below the border in Mexico but kept the stool. We've been told it might be worth something. I don't know. It's a conversation piece, at least. Our spinet upright piano, bought when our kids started piano lessons in the mid 70s, has a regular bench, so this one is often used more of an extra chair at the holiday family dinner table, etc.
My imagination puts this piano in an old saloon in the west where a local pianist is entertaining the cowboys and barmaids while a shoot-out is happening in the street. My weird mind just works that way....
What a lovely instrument and the restoration work on it is wonderful!
Nice shot, Brian. Love that seat and piano. My grandmother had a seat like this for her baby grand piano. My sisters and cousins would spin on it as kids at her house at holiday time. Great memories.
Happy New Year
