A couple of weeks ago I had taken an extended long weekend. On the last day we took a day trip to three small towns not to far from Edmonton. The first town is Millet. As we were driving down main street we passed by the local museum which was open. So we went in and we were not disappointed. It was a fabulous little museum with so many items from their local history.
This was a painting done by a local artist depicting what the town once looked like. It was done in a couple of sections depicting what both sides of the main street would have looked like. I am inviting anyone who would like to come along this week on glimpse into small town Alberta
Great capture of the historic shots :) We have a historic site in Victoria called Sovereign Hill - it's a museum from the time of the Aussie gold rush, with costumed guides, iron smithing etc. The main street there looks very like the buildings in this pic.
This reminds me of the "Little Town on the Prairie" book by Laura Ingalls Wild. I guess many of these towns from this time period had a similar look and feel to them. Nice collage and looking forward to the tour!
@olivetreeann Melody has the whole series of those book. Her Grandmother bought them for her many years ago and we had the chance to visit the Little House on the Prairie Museum in Walnut Grove quite a few years ago
