Under Investigation

Driving home today we saw a road blocked off and some flashing lights. As we took a closer look we saw this building that had been destroyed by fire.
This is the Leamington Mansion which was one of Edmonton's older apartment buildings. It was currently under going renovations. The good news was the building was empty. The sad news is we lose a historical building
Oh that is so sad.

Always sad to lose an old landmark.
October 18th, 2015
So sad! Even so, it's interesting to see a photo of it.
October 18th, 2015
Oh, that's too bad about the building but glad to hear no people were hurt.
October 18th, 2015
Shame to lose an old building like that.
October 18th, 2015

October 18th, 2015
Super shot.
October 18th, 2015
Very sad to see a historic go but it could be rebuilt whilst human lives cannot be brought back again.
October 18th, 2015
Good reason for always carrying a camera. Great shame about the building.
October 18th, 2015
A sad end to an old building.
October 18th, 2015
Thanks for sharing.
October 18th, 2015
Good shot, such a shame about the fire.
October 18th, 2015
It's easier to build a new one than to renovate an old one, so as inspector Magpie again I suspect arson. Neat capture.
October 18th, 2015
Great loss of history but great that no one was inside...great but sad shot of the remnants
October 18th, 2015
Nice shot, at least there were no accidents with the fire...
October 18th, 2015
Really sad, but interesting Brian. Sorry I've missed some recently.
October 18th, 2015
Nice record of this sad happening. Shame the building has been lost but good job nobody was hurt or worse.
October 18th, 2015
Nice capture. What a shame. I hate to see old buildings "go down". There is always so much history in them, both in the building and for the community.
October 18th, 2015
Ann
GREAT SHOT.
October 18th, 2015
That is sad to hear. I'm glad no one was hurt.
October 19th, 2015
So sad to lose an old building, but I'm glad no lives were lost.
October 19th, 2015
Sorry to hear about losing an historic building - always a chance when renovating that something like that could happen. Glad no one was in the building at the time.
October 19th, 2015
Always sad to hear when a bit of history is lost. Mumbai has many historically beautiful buildings which are in a bad state and need repair. Unclear ownership and ancient laws prevent their preservation. Some good work has been done but a huge amount of work needs doing.
October 19th, 2015
Well hopefully they find a way to preserve them
October 19th, 2015
@leananiemand Very sad
