Pet Therapy

My Mom is in the hospital at the moment. She could be in for awhile. This dog was brought by yesterday and as you can see she certainly enjoyed the visit. The dog is an Australian Lapperdoodle

I work in Hospice in Adelaide South Australia and we have a visiting therapy dog who brings smiles to the faces of patients, visitors and staff alike. It is such an important service and usually staffed by volunteers. We had one patient who was dying and was very drowsy and difficult to rouse who opened his eyes and smiled when he felt the dog touch his hand. It was lovely to see.

Pleased to see your Mom enjoying that soft comfort of this Lapperdoodle. Somerimes I take Mitzi to our local Seniors' Home. Their pleasure is a joy to see. It's a humbling experience.

Pet therapy is one of the most beneficial treatments today. I have literally experienced a total turn around in mood and behavior just having a dog or other animal walk up to a resident. It is amazing. Hope all goes well for your Mother.
