Today we left Calgary and I chose to travel on a secondary highway which we had not been on before. One of the small villages it took us to was Delburne. In the early days of the 20th century this was a railway hub for the area. This station was built in 1911. The railroad agent and his family would live here.
This station operated until 1971 when passenger service wa stopped through in tgis area.
The building sat vacant until 1976 when the Anthony Henday museum was opened here
Blue highways – if you have the time – always lead to more interesting views. Nice capture of early 20th century architecture. I am glad it has been re–purposed as a museum.
