Then and Now Kingman Baptist

Today was the funeral for Melody's aunt. Although it was almost three weeks ago she passed away circumstances delayed having a service until today.
The service was held in the hamlet of Kingman. While there l saw this old photo of the original church which was built in 1906. Eventually a new building was needed and the one on the right was built in 1957.
A difficult day. Nice that the new build has a look still of the original.

Interesting comparison. I hope that your family found happy moments and shared family times during the day. Funerals are hard but the best have laughter in with the tears.

Nice comparison...

I prefer the old building. Churches had spires to guide travellers when there weren't so many roads.

The old church has much more architectural character. So sorry for your loss.

Sorry for Melody's aunt. As for the church, I'm missing a tower on the right, so I prefer the left one. Nice to see old and new!

So sorry for your loss - just read your comment on my post for today, so of course wanted to see yours. I love old churches. You did a nice comparison from old to new, Brian.

My sympathies to you and Melody and prayers that good memories, time with family and the strength of your faith in the One who holds all of us in His hands will see you through the sorrow. Great comparison shots. I wish they'd been able to have another steeple- but both churches look like they are used to the fullest.
