Day six of my Things Canada is Known For series. Today l look at Canada's national animal the beaver.
The beaver was chosen due to the impact it had on the fur trade which was a huge industry in earliest days of our nation.
It was officially adopted as our national animal in 1975 and today is on the Canadian nickel which is our 5 cent coin. It was also on Canada's first postage stamp
I do remember stories about the fur trades in the early days of both our countries. I like the bold way this coin stands out against the black background. Good macro!
