O Canada 6 by bkbinthecity

O Canada 6

Day six of my Things Canada is Known For series. Today l look at Canada's national animal the beaver.
The beaver was chosen due to the impact it had on the fur trade which was a huge industry in earliest days of our nation.
It was officially adopted as our national animal in 1975 and today is on the Canadian nickel which is our 5 cent coin. It was also on Canada's first postage stamp
Good old beaver :)

A lovely clear shot. I like the way the coins and stamps of a country can say a lot about its culture, history and identity.
