Weekly Theme - Wood

It's no secret that a lot of us find photographic inspiration from mother nature, and we love seeing so many nature snaps from the 365project community! Influenced by the beautiful 'green giants' around us in British Columbia, this week's theme is 'wood'!

From beautiful the changing leaves of fall, to the budding blossoms in the southern hemisphere, this time of year is perfect for appreciating the trees around us.

Evergreens and rainforests that flood our lenses with rich green shades also make for a great photography challenge, as many of us know how tricky shooting foliage can be. From finding composition in a cluttered scene, to getting the perfect lighting, to working in after effects to balance out the green and yellow saturation - there are lots of tricks to master! We found this blog post especially useful for tips to tackle the forest.

For those who prefer to look for subjects closer to hand, take a look at the wooden objects and treasures that surround you and have fun with odd angles, zooming in or working with black and white.

Whatever you decide, have fun! We can't wait to see what you come up with.

How to enter this week's theme

When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-wood.

Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Tuesday 2nd October until the following Sunday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Monday evening (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.
