Just as I was leaving home this afternoon I saw something running in the field to my left as I was driving down the gravel. It was out quite aways and at first I actually thought it was a small dog or even a cat but as I crested the top of the hill I saw him running across the road in front of me and knew it was my fox. We don't often actually see them out here but know they live nearby because they have dens they've dug in the ditches next to the road. This guy was really fast....by the time I grabbled my camera in the passenger seat and fumbled around with the settings he was running as fast as his little legs could carry him across the field and he was too far out to get a very good shot. He did stop once to look at me and then he took off again, disappearing over the hill towards that barn. This is the best I could get after some serious cropping.
Nice capture! There is a fox family that lives in the woods next to me....hard to see them though. They avoid people, so you have to get to the woods very very early....This picture turned out quite well considering..
That's great, and a great story too! Isn't it amazing how exciting it is when you see something like this. It seems like you just can't get your camera turned on fast enough. Great capture!!
Oh, a great capture. Love to see them running free in an environment where they are welcome; unlike here where they are killed because of their danger to native wildlife.
Very cool, looks like a storybook picture with the processing. I saw one a few weeks ago, camera in hand and by the time I changed the setting all I got was his tail. I should learn to leave my camera on a neutral setting for all things.
This is an amazing shot! The afternoon sunlight, the perspective, the colors, and that crafty little fox all come together to make for one heck of a shot. Very nice! A fave!! :-)
I love your processing.
