I'm way behind with my posting but here's the last from our New Year's break. We stayed overnight in Turin on the way home and had time to see the famous Shroud of Turin. Displayed in Turin Cathedral, it is a length of linen cloth showing the negative image of a man believed to be the face of Jesus of Nazareth. The theory has not been confirmed as genuine but has been approved by the Pope. A small side chapel with a seating area provides a quiet place for meditation and prayer. I found the image quite difficult to see at first but once it 'appeared' I found it a truly memorable experience.
